Na-ye Kim Movement Collective (NKMC), led by dance professor Na-ye Kim, announced that they will hold a modern dance performance under the theme of “13 Ahhae Running on the Road” for three days at 8:00 PM from July 10 (Fri) to July 12 (Sun) at the outdoor parking lot of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus.

This performance is designed to purse communication through interaction with audience despite the difficult environment due to the COVID-19. It will be held as a method of ‘Drive-in’, the method that was never attempted before in the field of cultural art.

The art work of “13 Ahhae Running on the Road” modernizes the life of the 1930s, Colonial Period, where there was nothing but fear and despair and depicts people in the present who lost the meaning and direction of life through ‘Ahhae’ based on <Ogamdo: Vol. 1> by Lee Sang.

Professor Na-ye Kim said, “The most important element of performing art is communication with the audience, and we’ve always considered to attempt new methods to overcome this matter.” And she explained the purpose of the project, “We wanted to represent the human’s efforts to grasp flames of hope through ‘Ahhae’ from Lee Sang’s poem at the actual alley where children run, rather than the theater as a place-specific performance.”

NKMC is an artist collective led by Prof. Na-ye Kim and artists from various fields including dancers, and musicians are participated. They present creative performances by collaborating with artists and converging different genres such as dance, video, and music.
