Department of Forensic Holds a Symposium on Domestic and ForeignRegulatory Trends of New Drugs in the Pandemic Era

Department of Forensics (Dean: Si-Keun Lim) holds a 2021 Symposium on Domestic and Foreign Regulatory Trends of New Drugs during the Pandemic Era in collaboration with Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s Pharmaceutical Safety Bureau on July 28 (Wed).


The symposium, which will be held online, will be followed by an introduction of symposium by Hee-Sun Jung, a distinguished professor of forensic, a presentation on strengthening international response to new drugs by Dr. Justice Tettey at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, a presentation on open excess to the U.S. new drug early detection system by Dr. Barry Logan, and a presentation on the increasing trend and harmful effects of new drugs in Australia and New Zealand by Dr. Dmitri Gerostamoulos of the Victoria Institute in Australia.


For the domestic speaker, Dr. Eun-Mi Kim of the National Forensic Service will present a study on the characteristics of new drugs through the recent abuse, and Dr. Chan-Hyuk Kwon of the Korea Food and Drug Safety Assessment Institute will present a scientific evaluation of new drugs for drug regulation in Korea.


This online symposium will be a time for officials in charge of drug affairs, including the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the National Forensic Service, Supreme Prosecutors’ Office Republic of Korea, Korea Customs Service, Korean National Police Agency, and SKKU’s Department of Forensic, to have an academic discussion on domestic and foreign regulatory trends.
