2021 Spring Semester Wooseok Jeongho Scholarship Ceremony Held 


The 2021 spring semester Wooseok Jeongho Scholarship ceremony was held on April 9 (Fri) at the 600th Anniversary Hall (6F). Seojin Jung, the CEO of Hwashin and a son of former president Jeongho (SKKU graduate) who passed away, visited our university and awarded scholarship to Wooseok Jeongho scholarship students.


At the event, Junyoung Kim(Chairman of Board), Junmo Cho(Executive Vice President of Humanities and Social Sciences Campus), Sunghyun Kim(Dean of College of Economics), Heejun Ahn (Dean of SKK Business School), Joonsang Lee(Dean of Department of Economics), Changryong Baek(Dean of Department of Statistics), Dongwon Lee(Dean of Department of Global Economics), Hyundae Shin(Director of External Affairs & Public Relations office), relevant staffs and 16 scholarship students, the main actors of the event, attended.


The Wooseok Jeongho Scholarship fund was founded to support enrolled students contribute to society and grow into talented people leading the Republic of Korea, and a total of 350 students have been awarded scholarships with the amount of 890 million won since 2012. This semester, the scholarship (36 million won) was given to 18 students; 13 students from College of Economics and 5 students from SKK Business School.

At the ceremony, there were congratulatory  messages from Junyoung Kim and Seojin Jung. There was a short interview of Seowon Kim, representative of scholarship student, and a remembrance video of Jeongho. Then, the Executive Vice President Junmo Cho and Dean of SKK Business School Heejun Ahn delivered a gift of gratitude to CEO Seojin Jung.

The event was ended with reflecting on the meaning of ‘DongRyangJiJae’, which the former president Jeongho said for juniors, and pledging together to become a good leader.
