2024 Winter Commencement Ceremony Held

-Held at the New Millennium Hall of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus... 4,638 Graduates Conferred

On February 23rd (Fri) at 11 a.m., our university held the Winter Commencement Ceremony at the New Millennium Hall of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus.

This year's degree conferral ceremony was themed around the slogan, "From ancient times, the nation’s talents have gathered at Sungkyunkwan, so is your stay a coincidence?" It was designed as a ceremony where we could share the glorious moment, celebrating the first step as leaders of society equipped with the basic principles of benevolence and foresight, holding in our hearts the inevitable connection with Sungkyunkwan University.

On this day, a total of 4,638 degrees were conferred, including ▲ 2,691 bachelor's degrees, ▲ 1,630 master's degrees, and ▲ 317 doctoral degrees. Before the main ceremony, the president visited Sungkyunkwan to perform the traditional ritual of “Ko-yu-rae” announcing the graduation of 4,638 students.

※ Ko-yu-rae: A ceremony to announce significant events such as admissions, graduations, or building constructions by visiting Confucius' shrine.

At this degree conferral ceremony, alumnus Bae Jun-ho (Information and Communication Engineering, Class of '00, CEO of Willim Three-line Diaries Co., Ltd.) attended to share warm congratulations with the graduates and provide examples of challenges towards their dreams. He also offered insights and a mindset for living life. Additionally, the Office of Academic Affairs produced a graduation commemoration video containing memories of university life, creating a time of celebration to share the aspirations and challenges of the degree recipients as they take brave steps toward their dreams and offer collective support and encouragement.
