The Korean Academy Librarian Education is a renowned educational institution for librarians with the best scholars in the Department of Library and Information Science.
SKKU was selected by the Ministry of Education to open a professional training center for librarians in 1965.
The curriculum has changed over the years to better serve the changes in library ICT systems such as information searching, information management, and automated library technology.
The academy has produced over 8,500 graduates, most of whom are now working as professional librarians in major libraries around Korea, contributing to the development of the Korean library system. It is a hub for educating competent librarians specialized in ICT.
