Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU, President Jun Young Kim) held the 2013 Matriculation Ceremony in Suseonggwan building of SKKU Natural Science Campus located in Suwon, at 11 am on February 27.
Before the matriculation ceremony, President Jun Young Kim and the academic board consisting of 33 people performed the traditional ceremony announcing entrance of freshmen from 8:30 am to 8:50am that morning.

In this matriculation ceremony, freshmen flew ‘Paper Airplanes of Hope’ in the air, with handwritten hopes and ambition, under the lead of Ji Young Kang (Department of Acting for Theatre, Film & TV, member of popular dance group ‘KARA’), one of the newly admitted students. After that, ‘Pzy’ Sung In Kim (Senior of department of law) who is famously known as ‘SKKU Psy’ and the cheering squad performed the ‘Sungkyun Style’ which is a parody of the notorious ‘Gangnam Style.’ In addition, congratulatory message video created by 6 alumni who are currently active in all walks of life and 6 freshmen’s parents was shown to newly admitted students.

Meanwhile, during the ceremony, SKKU lived up to its reputation as a ‘Global Leading University’ as 2 international students who are representatives of foreign freshmen; Paris (College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates) and Fransewa (School of Social Sciences, Republic of the Congo), along with 2 Korean students (One from Suwon campus and the other from Seoul campus) read the ‘Student Representatives Oath’ in English.
