SKK GSB, #51 on Global MBA Ranking 2013

 

– Financial Times ranked Sungkyunkwan University SKK GSB the 51st MBA in the world. (2013 Global MBA Ranking)

– Among business schools in Korea, only SKK GSB has been ranked in the top 100 MBAs in 2012 and 2013.

– Korea University was ranked #86 and Seoul National University and KAIST were not in the top 100 MBA list.

– FT ranked SKK GSB #8 in Placement Success index, which is higher than UC Berkeley and Stanford University.

 

On January 28, 2013 (Mon), Financial Times (FT) announced the Global MBA Ranking 2013, which ranked Sungkyunkwan Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB - Dean Pil Hwa Yoo) as #51 MBA in the world. SKK GSB leaped 15 steps from its 2012 raking (#66) and that is a record for a Korean university. 
Like last year, SKK GSB has high grades in the field of Career Development and Globalization. In the ‘Career Development’ field, SKK GSB was ranked #26 in  ‘Career Progress’ and #33 in the ‘Aim Achievement’ criteria. Especially in terms of ‘Placement Success’, FT ranked SKK GSB #8 , higher than University of California Berkeley (#10), Stanford University (#17), Harvard University (#22) and Wharton School of Business, the University of Pennsylvania (#30).


Meanwhile, Harvard University, Stanford University, and Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania ranked #1,#2, and #3 in order in Global MBA Ranking 2013. The number of Asian Universities, ranking in the top 100 has increased from 10 in 2012 to 12 in 2013. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) was ranked #8, the highest ranked among Asian Universities, and China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) was ranked #15. As for universities in Korea, Sungkyunkwan University was ranked #51 and Korea University was ranked #86. However, Seoul National University and Yonsei University have failed to make the top 100 MBA list.
In terms of ‘Globalization’ which was strongly pursued by SKK GSB since its establishment in 2004, SKK GSB was ranked #22 in the ‘International Course Completion’ criteria and #33 in ‘International Mobility.’ Currently, SKK GSB is operating double degree programs with MIT Sloan and IU (Indiana University) Kelley School, and operating student exchange programs with various prestigious US and China MBA programs such as Columbia Business School, Michigan Ross School, Dartmouth Tuck School, Northwestern Kellogg, HKUST, Peking University, etc.


At SKK GSB, about 25% of graduates receive dual degrees every year. Also, GSB is providing opportunities to study abroad at Kellogg, the Tuck School, IU Kelley school as tuition at SKK GSB. In 2012 and 2013, 4 JD students of IU Maurer School of Law and 5 MBA students of Chile University came to Korea to study MBA at SKK GSB.
