President Kim gave comfort women personal hygiene items for senior citizens, woolen hats, scarves, rice cakes, fruits, and other household items as gifts in celebration of Lunar New Year’s Day. President Kim and students conversed with the elderly and helped clean houses. This student volunteer group included international students; Woomea urica(Japan), Rasive gumare(India), and Kangnam(China). Since Jun Young Kim was appointed as President of SKKU on January 2011, for every holiday, he has donated gifts such as rice cakes and household items for local senior citizens, needy neighbors, and students of a multicultural family every holiday season. Visiting the House of sharing is one President Kim’s act of sharing love. President Kim said “. The reason for visiting the House of Sharing and the conform women is to show support to grandmothers who are spending their twilight years with the aftereffect of compulsory mobilization and in hopes to spread warmth in the Lunar New Year’s day. Also, as the House of Sharing is a living educational spot for world peace and human rights movement, this visit will help raise proper awareness about the unresolved Korean-Japanese history.
