Dr. Nikolay Mikhaylovich Kropachev, the Rector of Saint Petersburg State University in Russia visited SKKU on May 23rd (Tues) to have a meeting with President CHUNG and SKKU representatives including Prof. Sung Jin SONG (Vice-President, Planning and Regulation Division), Prof. Dong Uk KIM (Vice-President, Academic Affairs Division), Prof. Ja Choon KOO (Vice-President, Office of International Affairs), and Prof. Ekaterina Popova (Russian Language and Literature).
At the meeting, the attendees had a discussion about invigorating joint research activities and student exchanges at summer school. They also developed detailed discussions for Korea-Russia Presidential Forum which is expected to be held in November of this year.
Saint Petersburg State University is the oldest and one of the largest universities in Russia. The university has a reputation for having educated the majority of Russia’s political elite including presidents Vladimir Putin and Dimitry Medvedev. They made exchange agreement with SKKU in 1998.
