School of Art and Naver Webtoon Signs MOU for IP Usage 'Global Game Contents Production Contest'
- Operation of Educational Programs for the Development of Talents Acquisition
SKKU Game Center (Prof. Joon-hee Lee) of the School of Arts (President Jung Ji-sook) signed a memorandum of understanding with Naver Webtoon on April 12 (Wed) on the use of Naver Webtoon IP, game content production, and the operation of educational programs through collaborations with global universities.
Through this business agreement, our university and Naver Webtoon decided to promote cooperation in education and research to revitalize the IP content industry and foster professional talent. The two organizations also signed an agreement with NYU to hold a contest-styled game design and competition.
Specifically, the focus is on △ the operation of game planning and development programs △ operation of curriculum to foster human resources with practical experience △ establishment of an international academic network related to games with NYU and others centered on Sungkyunkwan University.
"Even if SKKU Game Center is currently in the process of establishing this yet, we are winning various research projects," said Jaejun, Prof. of Art in interactive contents design, who oversees the research, said, "this opportunity will provide students to experience the global stage and will allow them to enhance their understanding of the convergence content industry”.
