Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU)’s Sungkyun China Research Center(Head, Prof. Lee Hee Ok) on July 10 signed a academic research agreement with Shandong University’s Chinese & Korean Relations Research Center. Both institutes agreed to strengthen ties and exchange, through academic exchange, joint research and sharing of research information and others on Korean and Chinese related major issues.
Prof. Lee of the Sungkyun China Research Center emphasized that “The Sunkyun China Research Center is considered one of the foremost research center’s for China social science study in Korea” and asserted that “the close mutual cooperation between the two institutes will contribute greatly to the development of the Korea and China relations.”
Shandong University’s Chinese & Korean relations research center’s official introduced that “Shandong’s Chinese & Korean Relations Research Center was made right after Chinese president Xi Jinping’s visit to Korea in 2014” and expressed hopes “to contribute to the progress of China and Korea relations through close cooperations of both sides.”
After the signing of the agreement, both sides held a academic forum on Korea and China relations, academic exchange and other mutual interests. In addition Prof. Lee after the forum gave a special lecture to undergraduate and graduate students from Shandong University on the development of Korea and China relations.
