Zhu Qing Meng, director of the education department in Henan Province China, visited SKKU on July 25th to make an agreement for collaboration in the education field. Through this, both universities will have opportunities to exchange students, faculties and much more.
Henan is a historical area with over 3000 years of history. It is one of the top 5 largest economic areas among 31 provinces in China, and has 107 million residents. With a developed agricultural industry, Henan provides the food supply to 1/10 of the entire Chinese population. Also, its great location makes this region a transportation hub, connecting all four directions.
Many outstanding universities in chemical engineering, medical practices, history, geography, art, and foreign languages such as Zhengzhou University, are located in Henan.
President Chung of SKKU offered collaborations such as, joint research in humanities, publishing of teaching materials in Korean, and MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). Both President Chung and Director Zhu showed great expectations for this agreement.
