Prof. Chong-Sun Hong of Statistics, Elected as a 16th
President of the Korean Data & Information Science Society
Professor Chong-Sun Hong of Statistics was elected as a 16th president of the Korean Data & Information Science Society and the term in office is 2 years from January 2021.
The Korean Data & Information Science Society is an academic society in statistics, which was established in March 1989 and celebrated its 32ndanniversary this year. It is a large academic society with more than 1,000 members, leading academic activities in related fields in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, big data, artificial intelligence, and data science.
It aims to be registered in Scopus, field of Korea Data Information Science, and is actively operating it by holding regular academic conferences twice a year and promoting workshops on big data. It is also working to organize and support research groups around young scholars.
Prof. Hong said, “I will devote myself to the internationalization and continued development of the Korea Data Information Science Association.”
