Received the Academic Award for Outstanding Papers
from the Korean Society for Journalism & Communication Studies
Prof. Sung Eun Chung (Department of Media & Communication) was awarded the Academic Excellence Award for the best thesis at the Fall Regular Conference of the Korean Society for Journalism & Communication Studies (KSJCS) held on October 15 (Sat) at Seoul National University with the theme of ‘Breaking an Infinite Connected Society: Finding a Solution for Journalism”. The annual Outstanding Paper Award by KSJCS is given to the best paper among papers published in 3 journals published by KSJCS during the past year.
Prof. Chung, along with Prof. Youllee Kim (Alumni of the Department of Public Affairs and Department of Media & Communication) of Denver University and Prof. Minsun Shim (Inha University), theoretically identified how the relationship between risk perception and preventive behavior practice changes according to various types of risk possibility perception, and applied it to COVID-19 prevention behavior to empirically verify it.
