Professors of Integrative Biotechnology, Jae Youl Cho, Jongsung Lee, Woo Ram Park, and Balachandran Manavalan were selected as the 2022 Top 2% paper citation count researchers.

According to the reported data from Stanford University (USA), this selection process of researchers was conducted on 8 million researchers across the world, categorized into 22 research fields, and selected researchers with the top 2% citation count for each field.

Prof. Jae Youl Cho and Jongsung Lee were selected for the Medicinal & Biomolecular Chemistry field. Prof. Cho is the world’s top 5 and Korea’s first-ranked researcher in the immunopharmacology field and has been investigating related fields for more than a decade. Currently, Prof. Cho is studying the understanding of the inflammatory signal transmission process, cancer and inflammatory immunity control of natural products/synthetic materials, and the biological function of autophagy and protein methylation.

Prof. Lee is proceeding with basic research that interprets the structure and physiology of skins at a molecular level (molecular dermatology). Through this, he is conducting research about the development of platform technology and material mechanism for functional material search which serves as the bridge role for the commercialization of basic research.

Prof. Park has the research field of drug delivery. He is proceeding with research about targeting biomedicine onto a certain tissue/cell with high efficiency using various organic/inorganic hybrid nanomaterials and with this research, he was selected as the top 2% citation count researcher in the Biomedical Engineering field.

Prof. Balachandran is conducting research about merging various big data such as future generation sequence listing analysis data into the lab’s independent AI machine-learning algorithm. He is contributing to the academic community by carrying out research that discovers significant factors of disease by combining related technology with various phenomena and diseases based on biological diversity. With this research results, he was selected as the top 2% citation count researcher, one and only in Korea, for the Bioinformatics field.
